A U.S. State Department spokesperson confirmed Friday that staff from the department's Colombia-based Venezuela Affairs Unit will "conduct an initial assessment for a potential phased resumption of operations" in Venezuela, where Washington shuttered its embassy in 2019 and evacuated all diplomatic personnel.
Friday morning saw President Donald Trump commend the Venezuelan acting president's collaborative stance, declaring that a second U.S. strike against Venezuela "will not be needed."
